The hose of the pressure washer demonstrates the validity of the rule that the weakest component of a device determines its usability and durability. Hoses have to withstand a pressure of 200 bar and more, which is made possible by an incorporated steel mesh. Instead of repairing, they have to be replaced.

A broken hose usually has to be replaced
If a pressure washer is defective, it may be due to a leakage as well as a mechanical cause. Both the gun and the hose completely paralyse the function of the device.
If it is a small hole or a narrow crack, the defect will first manifest itself in a loss of pressure or even a complete lack of pressure build-up. First, the connections at both ends of the hose should be checked.
Some specialist workshops and after-sales services repair hoses
In some cases, the customer service or a specialist workshop can repair an old defective hose. This is especially worthwhile for long hoses, which are correspondingly expensive. A hole in the hose can be resealed by cutting it out and pressing it with a coupling.
This type of repair is not possible for amateurs and private individuals. The pressing pressure for the coupling must be at least two tonnes. Also, the surrounding metal fabric must be checked and shortened accordingly in detail in order to restore the risk-free and safe pressure resistance.
Independent repairs should only be carried out if the maximum pressure of the high-pressure cleaner does not exceed eighty bar and the person carrying out the repair has experience with pressure-conducting components.
